The Show celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1999,

although the first Hope Agricultural Show

was held in 1853.

 

The Hope Show has always been a family show, strongly based on farming customs, and run my an army of local volunteers.

It provides financial assistance to Societies, Associations and other bodies of a charitable nature.

 

The objects of the Society are to promote and

support development of, and interest in, the rearing and breeding of high class horses, cattle, sheep and other livestock as well as all matters of an agricultural and horticultural nature.

 

The Society also aims to improve the breeding, training and care of sheepdogs and the skill of man and dog for the purpose of raising the standards of shepherding and the care of sheep.
